What is WASH?

W.A.S.H. (Workshop in Art Studio and History) is an intro art program held at Sam Houston State University. Taught by Bill Davenport and Kathryn Kelley, it is the first step on the path to earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts at SHSU.

Day Two-Four

I am a little computer illiterate. Hence, why its taking me this long to get to day 2 when we are on day 4 ...yeah, haven't figured out how to post pictures on this thing yet. I'll ask my roommate tonight.

The Washies are currently working on compositions made only with dots. Specifically the ideas of Closure, Continuance, Proximity, and Similarity. They started with 40 thumbnails, and are in small group critz looking at the 4 that best represent each category(so 16 each). In groups they are helping each other recognize natural tendencies this will allow for more variety.  Eventually (sept 5) they will end up with 4 finished Dot compositions.
